How to rid yourself of dark circles.

How to rid yourself of dark circles.

Some days, I wake up more exhausted than when I went to sleep. I have so much going on that I’m up late running around and starting my days earlier than ever before. All of this lack of sleep really takes a toll on my face and I’m starting to notice dark circles under my eyes.

I’m responsible for many different things in my life, and one thing that quickly gets pushed to the back burner is, well, ME. Sometimes I need to remind myself to invest in something good - just for me. Something to help eliminate those dark circles that form under my eyes when I’m running in too many directions. Something that is good for my skin.

Under eye creams may seem like an indulgence, but if you’re anything like me and live a fast paced life, a good under eye cream can at least give the appearance you don’t skip on your daily eight hours of sleep.

When you look for an eye cream, find one that will add benefits daily and continue to build on those benefits over time. So, what should a good eye cream include?

Soy Peptides
Peptides are molecular links of amino acids that help your skin produce an anti-wrinkle protein known as collagen. These peptides are found naturally in soybeans and rice.

Soy peptides have skin anti-aging benefits because they have the ability to alter the activity of cells. Because of this, they are often added to skin care products to boost collagen synthesis and reduce inflammation. When skin is exposed to the destructive effects of  UV rays and pollutants, free radicals form that can damage skin cells and activate enzymes that break down collagen. Soy peptides can prevent some of this damage by providing the free radicals electrons so they don’t damage as easily.

Soy peptides will also fade areas of increased pigmentation due to sun damage, as well as lighten circles under the eyes. When applied in the form of eye cream on a regular basis, less blotchiness and improved skin texture has been found and fine lines and wrinkles are improved.

Peptides derived from soybeans also have many benefits far outside of collagen production that might convince you to include them in your diet. Peptides have blood pressure-lowering and cholesterol-lowering benefits and may lower the risk for obesity by reducing the body’s ability to store fat. They reduce exercise-related fatigue in athletes and appear to increase lean body-mass in bodybuilders.

Rice Peptides
There are many different types of peptides, all which have various effects on the skin’s cellular function.

A rice-based peptide reduces the puffiness and dark circles under the eyes by improving microcirculation and increasing fibroblasts proliferation. Rice peptides increase elasticity and collagen in the connective tissue around the eye, and improves the blood supply where it’s applied. As a result, rice peptides can trigger a chain of amino acids to create and release protein to help nourish the skin.

Because peptides are a natural skin care product, it may take a little bit of time for your skin to respond. Peptides work exceptionally well when targeting the areas where skin is thinnest and most delicate. Daily application of makeup and cleansing can leave this fragile tissue wanting more. A daily regimen that includes the benefits of peptides can give this tissue – especially around the eyes – all it needs to continue to look its best.

REGU – AGE PF
eb5 Daily Repair Eye Cream includes REGU-AGE, a paraben-free complex of specially purified natural soy and rice peptides.

In the skincare world, peptides are considered one of the most effective treatments in repairing damaged and aging skin. The most important thing to remember when using a peptide formula is diligence. It may take a few weeks to really to see the benefits, but with consistent, daily use, you will see great results.

Stevia Plant
Did you know that Stevia isn’t just a fabulous sugar alternative, but that it can also be a great addition to your under eye cream?

Stevia leaves are enriched with a variety things like protein, fiber, iron, calcium, potassium, vitamin A, and vitamin C, just to name a few.

Stevia can also be used as an anti-bacterial and anti-microbial product. In concentrated form, it can be used to treat seborrhea and eczema, and used on minor cuts and abrasions, which can often minimize scarring. It can also be highly effective in reducing and curing acne and blemish problems.

All of these amazing properties make Stevia a perfect ingredient in your eye cream. It tightens the skin and considerably reduces the fine wrinkles that form on your face.

Soybean Protein
The soybean is set apart from other plant food because it has a high-quality protein content. As a skin care ingredient, soy can help diminish wrinkles, reverse sun damage, and even tighten sagging skin.

Soy is especially beneficial for people with combination skin. Soy is sometimes referred to as a smart moisturizer because of its abilities to moisturize dry areas while decreasing oiliness in other areas. When skin creams contain soy protein, they have a softening and smoothing effect while evening out the skin tone. Because of its balanced formula, it makes a great addition to under eye cream, as well as to moisturizers and other facial cream products.

Vitamin E
Vitamin E is both a nutrient and an antioxidant that is. As a nutrient, it is used and absorbed by the skin. As an antioxidant, it helps neutralize free radicals, which damage skin cells and can lead to cardiovascular disease and cancers. When introduced to the skin, it may provide protection as an antioxidant and provide a role in the anti-inflammatory processes.

To help with absorption, skin care products with Vitamin E should also include other antioxidants for best results
